Background
I founded Easytrack Payroll and ran it for 18 years, building it from the ground up and exiting in late 2025. The real story isn't just operations — it's product. In the early days of Easytrack Payroll, I identified one of the first cloud-based payroll platforms, and redesigned the entire customer experience around it before cloud software had a name. That pattern — finding what's coming, designing the adoption experience, building the back-office systems to make it work — has defined my career.
Managed every dimension of a payroll service bureau — compliance, technology, staffing, client relations, and the vendor ecosystem. I've lived the workflow at every level.
Built and iterated a complete customer-facing and back-office system over 18 years. When I look at a payroll product, I see the 2pm Monday moment when something goes wrong and a business owner is panicking.
Thirty years advising small and mid-sized businesses — through the Minnesota SBA SBDC network in the 1990s, as a founder serving clients directly, and through ongoing consulting across finance, operations, and technology.
